Meet Our Staff
Dr. Lorone Washington
Dr. Washington serves as the Medical Director of Carolina HealthChoice in Columbia and Greenville. He received his medical degree from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine and has been practicing for 15 years. While his specialty is Emergency Medicine, Dr. Washington has vast knowledge in not only pain management, but also in opioid risk management.
Beth Rouse, APRN, FNP-BC, Clinical Director
Beth Rouse is the Clinical Director of Carolina HealthChoice. She spent seven years as a Registered Nurse before pursuing her Nurse Practitioner's license in 2011. Her medical experience includes physical medicine, geriatric internal medicine, pediatrics, dialysis and nerve pain. She worked as a Family Nurse Practitioner with The Minute Clinic providing acute care services and various physical examinations. She has been well trained in all aspects of patient support including assessments, counseling, and administration of treatment procedures.
Cathy Bradberry, Operations Support Manager, Referral Coordinator
Cathy Bradberry serves as our Operations Support Manager and Referral Coordinator. She comes to us with over eleven years of patient care experience in a hospital setting, and three years of medical management experience. She received her bachelor's degree in Business Management from Southern Wesleyan University. Her outstanding ability to efficiently multi-task with a smile on her face makes Cathy stand out to everyone. Her caring manner is noticed by not only the Carolina HealthChoice staff, but also its patients.
Alicia Brown, Insurance Specialist
Alicia Brown serves as the Insurance Specialist for Carolina HealthChoice. Her experience includes medical billing and coding, as well as knowledge of required healthcare protocols. She is extremely helpful, organized, and is a team player. Always willing to lend a helping hand, her kindness and professionalism make her stand out.
Destiny Byrd, APRN, WHNP-BC, AGNP-C
Destiny Byrd is an Adult Gerontology Primary Care and Women's Health Nurse Practitioner. She received her Master's in Nursing from Vanderbilt University in Tennessee. She is licensed in the state of South Carolina to provide safe, holistic and efficient healthcare services to patients. During her career she has gained diverse experience in different areas of patient care which include Primary Care, OB/GYN, Urogynecology, as well as managing common chronic diseases of diverse complex patients with trauma history at the Dorn Veteran's Administration. Her patient care, attention to detail, and organizational skills are exceptional. We are so pleased to have her on our team.
Cara Lett, Front Office Coordinator
Cara Lett serves as the Front Office Coordinator in our Irmo office. She is also a Certified Medical Assistant. She is knowledgeable in medical terminology, and HIPAA. Her bright smile, helpful disposition, and organized manner make her a great asset to the Carolina HealthChoice team.
Dijaris Holmes, Medical Assistant
Dijaris Holmes serves as the Medical Assistant in our Irmo office. She received her Medical Assisting certificate from Remington College. She is knowledgeable in medical terminology, venipuncture and phlebotomy, and HIPAA. Her experience includes the Department of Juvenile Justice, private practice as well as EMS. Her bright smile, helpful disposition, and organized manner make her a great asset to the Carolina HealthChoice team.
Ithamesia Rodgers, AGACNP-C
Ithamesia Rodgers is a Certified Acute Care Gerontology Nurse Practitioner. Prior to obtaining her Master’s Degree in Nursing, she spent over nineteen years as a Registered Nurse, including experience in public health, medical-surgical, addiction treatment, and fifteen years served at Moncrief Army Community Hospital at Ft. Jackson. Her professional, compassionate demeanor make her a valuable member of our team.
Christine Norris, Front Office Coordinator
Christine Norris serves as the Front Office Coordinator in our Northeast office. She received her Medical Assisting certificate from Remington College. She comes to us with experience in medical terminology, scheduling, venipuncture and phlebotomy, and HIPAA. She is compassionate, organized, and is always willing to help in any way she can. Her kind nature and willingness to help both patients and staff make her an important team member.
Ashaunti Sarvis, Medical Assistant
Ashaunti Sarvis serves as the Medical Assistant in our Northeast office. She comes to us with experience in phlebotomy and Home Health. She is compassionate, organized, and is always willing to help in any way she can. Her kind nature and willingness to help both patients and staff make her an important team member.
Karen Picone, APRN, FNP-BC
Karen Picone is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner. Prior to obtaining her Master’s Degree in Nursing, she spent over twenty years as a Registered Nurse. Her experience encompasses home healthcare, family practice, surgical, hospice and emergency medicine. She is a member of the Upstate Nurse Practitioner’s Association, the America Association of Nurse Practitioners, and the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. Her experience working with a wide variety of acute and chronic care patients has led to her dedication to enhancing her patient’s quality of life and wellness. Her patient care, kind demeanor, and leadership experience make her a valued part of our team.
Jennifer Merideth, Front Office Coordinator
Jennifer Merideth serves as the Front Office Coordinator in our Greenville office. Her medical front office experience includes COVID screening, medical coordinator, behavioral health technician as well as EMT. Her solid customer services skills give her the ability to maintain a positive and professional attitude in any situation. Her friendly, helpful demeanor make her an important part of our patient care team!
Lynn Garrick, Medical Assistant
Lynn Garrick serves as the Medical Assistant in our Greenville office. She comes to us with over twelve years of medical assistant experience, including pulmonary and critical care. She is extremely organized, efficient, and is always willing to help in any way she can. She is a welcomed addition to our Greenville team!
Latroy Dingle, APRN, FNP-BC
Latroy Dingle is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner. Prior to completing his Master's Degree in Nursing, he spent ten years as a Registered Nurse where he gained experience in the ICU, Medical Surgical, Telemetry, and the Emergency Room. He also cared for patients at the VA Medical Center in Columbia for five years. He was in the United States Army National Guard for nine years prior to beginning his nursing career. His passion is in providing safe, effective, compassionate care to a diverse patient population through the use of the latest evidence based practices available. His knowledge, kind demeanor, and exceptional patient care make him an important part of our team.
Shakevia Washington, Front Office Coordinator
Shakevia Washington serves as the Front Office Coordinator in our Sumter office. She graduated in 2019 from Ultimate Medical Academy with an Associate of Science in Health Sciences Medical Administrative Assistant. Her medical and customer service skills come from working at Prisma Health Tuomey as a patient transporter and telecommunications operator. She is dedicated and is always willing to go above and beyond in helping both patients and co-workers.

Ashley Dennis serves as the Medical Assistant in our Sumter office. Her medical and customer service skills come from her experience working in a clinical setting while helping patients and assisting providers. She is skilled in optimizing the clinic workflow, while providing each patient with individualized attention. She is dedicated to producing positive patient outcomes and delivering exceptional customer service. We are happy to have her on our team.
